Yet another disappointing start to the season, something we Gooners have gotten used to by now. These unexpected defeats don’t take us by surprise anymore. We go into every single game totally unsure of the result(Even against minnows).
In my personal opinion this side is broken and it needs fixing. The kind of fixing that can only come from within. No matter which team you support you will agree with me when I say,”No player is bigger than the club!”. What’s the point in keeping hold of players who are not committed to the cause?
As much as I would hate to see two world class players in Alexis Sanchez & Mesut Ozil depart from Arsenal. It can only help the cause. The dressing room is in chaos, the team lacks the togetherness that we’ve seen quite often on the field.
I still feel Ozil will renew the contract and stay at Arsenal but he needs to do that sooner to avoid all this uncertainty to affect his own game and the teams mental situation. It’s similar to the way we went completely off-track towards the end of last season with uncertainty over Arsene Wenger’s future at the club. Alexis is a goner, he’s out of form(or simply not interested) and we will be better shipping him out to City or anywhere else in Europe come Jan and cash in on him rather than let him walk out for free.
Theo has had his fair amount of chances to prove his worth. He’s got his wish to play as a striker and he blew it and has done the same as a winger now. He surely has to go. The saddest part is whenever we feel Arsenal are taking a stride forward with signings like Lacazette and Kolasinac, we’re actually going two strides back as we fail to manage the contract situations yet again.
We’ve finished out of the top-4 for the first time under Wenger and I don’t see this decline stopping till we start putting on a side of players who actually take pride in playing for the badge on their jerseys rather than the size of their paycheques.
