14 Crazy Lucrative Stay At Home Jobs for SAH Parents

Living on one income can sometimes be difficult. I know that fact from experience. This is where stay at home jobs for those who stay at home come in handy.

My wife used to be a stay-home mom and I was the only one earning a living. When there’s only one income coming in, it can really be difficult to figure where the money should go first, second, third, etc.

When I was the only one working and not making a lot of money, I was tempted to not save because we had bills to pay, needs to meet, among others. These stay at home jobs or work from home jobs helped us meet some of our expenses, which meant that we were able to allocate some of the money I earned towards other important things like investment and retirement accounts.

As of this writing, there are over 20,000 work from home jobs or easy jobs with high pay on Indeed.

Stay At Home Jobs: 14 Perfect Jobs For Stay Home Parents

These are some of the work from home jobs my wife used to do, which helped us earn additional money on the side. These are easy jobs with high pay.

1. Take paid online surveys.

At first, I was skeptical about taking surveys as a source of income because I heard a lot of people saying that it's a scam.

It turned out that some surveys are legit and pay a decent amount. In the past two years, my wife and I have earned $6,000 from surveys. Best yet, we got all that money by spending a couple of minutes here and there. Just recently, I came across a new site called Survey Junkie. I heard a lot of good reviews about it. Tia, a survey taker, was gracious to share her earning from Survey Junkie. She said she did it in less than 10 days and spending a few minutes each of those days. Wow! That's $615.56.Granted you're not going to be rich with taking surveys, but a couple of hundred dollars are better especially when you can use your free time to get that money.

2. Blog.

Blogging can be one of the most lucrative work from home jobs and one of the best stay at home jobs out there. My blog generates close to $30,000/mo (see my blog income above for 2016-2017). I never thought we could earn with blogging. Now, I treat blogging as one of the bet work from home jobs.

Blogging is fun and is rewarding, too. Blogging has opened doors and a lot of opportunities for me. Because of blogging, my wife and I don’t worry about money anymore. We use the blogging money for daily expenses and we keep all our salaries for savings and other investments. I took a risk, paid $2.95/mo, and took a plunge into the blogging world. Now, my blog pays for everything. Yes, it pays for our bills, mortgage, retirement, etc. It even puts a ton of excess money towards our checking and savings account.

All those blessings consistently happen by me blogging 5 hours/month only. My blog's earning keeps on climbing one month to another month. A lot of people comment or message me how I helped them with their finances, and that's the best part of blogging.

3. Invest.

Though I work full-time, I also do blogging and investing on the side.

As I said earlier, I make close to $30,000 on blogging. What I didn't tell you is what else I do with my excess blog money after all expenses in the house have been paid for and a portion of the money has been saved. I use the excess for investing. For three years now, I have been able to beat the S&P Index by double digits. In 2014, my return was 26.54%, in 2015 it was 32.32%, and in 2016 it was 27.14%. I use Personal Capital to cross-check my research and find valuable information to help me decide the stocks and funds I need to put my money in. These two platforms are FREE to use.

I use Personal Capital for its FREE financial software, a mobile app I could use everywhere I go, and fee analysis. Over the past three years, I've accumulated over $40,000 in returns. This year alone, my investment gain is over $23,000 already. For me, this is one of those easy jobs with high pay, which keeps on giving.

4. Shop for groceries.

Grocery shopping can also be one of those work from home jobs that can bring in some good money. Yes, you can get paid for grocery shopping, that is, helping out others get their groceries right in their doorstep.

Working with Instacart lets you do grocery shopping for other people who can’t or doesn’t have the time to do it.You can either be a Full-Service Shopper who shops and delivers fresh groceries right at the customer’s doorstep or an In-Store Shopper who shops and bags customer’s orders before moving on to the next one.You can choose your own hours. You can take time off or work extra hours when it suits you. You can work during peak days to maximize your earnings. Plus, you get paid weekly.

5. Get paid to deliver food.

Got a car, bike, or other modes of transportation? How about a smartphone?

That's all you need to make money fast by delivering food to people when they make an order. Door Dash is a very popular food delivery company that's always looking for delivery employees.

You can work for Door Dash in your spare time. You are your own boss and you set up your own time. If you don't feel like delivering food tonight, then, don't.Do you know that a Dash Door delivery person makes $21.72/hour on average? That's a huge money.

6. Get paid to use the internet.

When was the last time you used the internet? Maybe 5 minutes ago? When was the last time you watch a video online? Maybe 2 minutes ago? If you do anything online, do you get paid? If not, then, you are leaving a lot of money on the table.

7. Cut your bills for good.

While cutting bills may not be something that will make you money or not even one of those work from home jobs, but it would save you a lot of money now and in the long run. The best part of that is when you cut your bills, then, you won't really have to do anything else.

Let's just say, it's a benefit that keeps on benefiting you. I recently found a simple, FREE personal finance app called Trim that I think is a great solution to those who want to cut their expenses for good.

Once a bank account is linked, Trim will analyze your spending, find subscriptions to cancel, negotiate your bills, among others. Trim cut our on-contract Verizon phone bill by $16.75/mo. That's $201/year. In 10 years, that's a savings of $2,010, and that's only for the phone bill. Imagine the other bills you can cut and their long-term savings

8. Become an online teacher.

Do you ever wonder how much a teacher makes? Honestly, they should make more than what they are getting paid right now.

Do you know how much an online teacher (could) make money from home? Let's just say, one teacher made over $75,000 teaching children overseas English. He did that thru VIPKID. Teachers for VIPKID can easily make as much as $2,000/mo working 4-5 hours a day. As a VPKID teacher, you get the training and teaching materials for FREE.

All you need are:

  • 4-year Bachelor's degree
  • High-speed internet connection
  • Some experience with teaching kids (formal or informal way of teaching)

9. Babysit.

No, she didn’t get paid for babysitting our daughter. But she did get paid for babysitting other kids.

This was the best option for her. Since she’s already taking care of our daughter and has childcare experience by default, I contacted my friends to see if they wanted to have their kids taken care of by my wife at a very discount price. Luckily, they agreed. She told me that it’s the best part-time job she had because it was natural for her to take care of the little ones. She enjoyed it and made some money on the side, too. She was happy. I was happy. My friends were happy. Basically, everybody was happy.

10. Sell old stuff.

One of the good work from home jobs is selling old stuff. Call it re-selling.

Babies grow so fast. Next thing you know, you need another set of clothes and other baby essentials. Because there were a lot of clothes in our apartment, most of which came from my sister and some from my friends, my wife ended up selling some items online through Craigslist.

I tell you selling stuff within your area is a good idea. Whether you are selling children items, electronics, or something else, you can always sell your used items and get some cash in return. One thing I recommend is to make sure that the items you are going to sell are those than you don’t find useful anymore and can’t take of anything to use them for. Don’t sell them and, in turn, by a new set because you happen to need those things in the future.

11. Work remotely.

Some jobs, nowadays, can be work from home jobs. If you are a doctor, you can do telemedicine. If you are an accountant, you can still do your work at home or even create your own accounting and bookkeeping services.

The best way to continue building your experience while you stay home is through working remotely. As I said you can create your own business and run it at home. My wife has a background in finance and accounting. When she stayed home, I got a client for her to do bookkeeping services. She did it for a number of years. When she applied for a full-time job, she included that part-time experience in her resume.

So, even when she was not fully-employed, she remained competitive in the job market because of her part-time, work from home job. There are work from home jobs out there that don’t require physical presence in the office and easy jobs with high pay. You can basically work full-time or in your own time without leaving your home. Do you happen to have opinions about websites? Like, do you not like the setup of one website, but like the other sites' layout? If this is you, then, your best bet to make money is to test apps and websites for FREE. Companies want their customers to get the best site experience. 14. Work as a data encoder.

If you have a computer or laptop and have excellent typing skills, then, data encoding is the job for you.

Some companies hire freelance data encoders for many reasons.

One reason is that companies will find savings (e.g., not providing paid leave and insurance) in hiring freelance data encoders. They win, and you make money from home for FREE.

As a data encoder, you can get paid the minimum or at least $18/hour, depending on your skill level, experience, and job requirement. experience. Imagine sitting at home, listening to music, doing the work, and still get paid. If this is not one of the best work from jobs, then, I don't know what to call it.
